Steve Pettit
President

Steve Pettit was raised in Columbia and earned his BS in Business Administration from The Citadel in 1978. He earned an MA in Pastoral Studies from Bob Jones University in 1980. For the last year, Pettit has served as president of the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Association, an organization he headed for 29 years previously.

Prior to that, Pettit served as Bob Jones University’s president from May 2014 through May 2023. During his tenure at BJU, he led with a strong commitment to the authority of Scripture and the integration of a biblical worldview into academic programs and student life. Under his leadership, BJU achieved regional accreditation and tax exemption in 2017. Pettit also authored seven books that focus on biblical themes and discipleship.

In 2015, he was recognized as the 142nd Distinguished Alumni in the history of The Citadel. On May 5, 2023, Steve Pettit Day was declared in the State of South Carolina by Governor Henry McMaster to honor Pettit’s numerous accomplishments as BJU’s president.

Pettit and his wife, Terry, reside in Greenville and are members of University Baptist Church in Clemson.

Randy Page
Executive Vice President

Prior to joining Palmetto Family Council’s staff, Randy Page served as State Representative Adam Morgan’s congressional campaign manager and as state director for Never Back Down PAC in South Carolina. He also served as public relations director and chief of staff at Bob Jones University from January 2013 until May 2023.

Page served as director of public events for Governor David Beasley, legislative director for Lt. Governor Bob Peeler and chief of staff for Lt. Governor Andre Bauer before becoming president of South Carolinians for Responsible Government, one of the state’s largest grassroots organizations advocating for school choice.

 He currently serves as a board member of The Charter Institute at Erskine, Exceptional SC, Faith Wins, South Carolina Citizens for Life, and Save America Now PAC. He previously served on the Greenville County Library System’s Board of Trustees and as vice chair for the South Carolina Public Charter School District Board of Trustees and the Teach from DeHart Foundation board.

 Page served as the South Carolina Republican Party’s Second and Fourth Congressional District Chairman, as State Executive Committeeman for Greenville County, and on its faith outreach committee and co-chaired the platform committee. He served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2012, 2016, and 2020 and as a member of the national platform (2012) and credentials (2016) committees.

 Page and his wife, Melissa, reside in Greenville and are active members of Faith Baptist Church of Taylors where he serves as a deacon.

Kevin Caiello
Operations Director

Kevin is a US Navy veteran and graduate of Columbia International University where he received his B.S. in Bible and M.A. in Intercultural Studies.

He joined the staff of Palmetto Family in 1994 as the first full-time employee, and other than a four year break to work in an evangelistic teen abstinence ministry, has worked for Palmetto Family ever since. His areas of responsibility include administration, technology and development.

Kevin resides in Lexington with his wife of 36 years. They homeschooled their three sons from K through 12, and have two granddaughters. He is a member of Hope Church Columbia where he has served in International Student Ministry, Youth Ministry, Singles Ministry, Refugee Ministry, teaching and as a home group leader.

Josiah DuCharme
Publishing and Advocacy Director

Josiah DuCharme was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated in 2025 with a degree in Philosophy, concentrating in Metaphysics and Epistemology. During his undergraduate studies, he earned recognition on the President’s List at Union University and was active in the Honors communities at both Union and Columbia International University.

Josiah has served in leadership and organizational roles, including Team Lead for two Chick-fil-A franchises, Director of Content Development for Becoming Disciples LLC, and currently as Publishing and Advocacy Director for Palmetto Family Council. He has also developed a portfolio of works in philosophical and political theory.

In addition to his academic and professional endeavors, Josiah has spoken at Christian camps and conferences, bringing together philosophical depth and practical ministry application.

Josiah and his wife, married in January 2025, reside in Columbia, where they are active in ministry and community engagement.

Al Phillips
Church Ambassador Network Director

Prior to joining Palmetto Family Council’s staff, Phillips served for over four decades in full time ministry at multiple churches in Spartanburg County including First Baptist of North Spartanburg, First Baptist Church of Arcadia and Ben Avon Baptist Church. Since 2015, he served as the Director of Missions for the Greenville Baptist Association until his retirement in late January 2025.

 Phillips earned a BA in 1979 from the University of South Carolina and an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1983.

Phillips and his wife, Rose, reside in Campobello and are active members of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors.
