Under the leadership of G. Steven Suits, M.D. of Spartanburg, Palmetto Family Council received its charter as a non-profit organization in 1993, and opened an office in Columbia in the fall of 1994. Working in association with Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council, we began “defending and strengthening the family” in South Carolina.
Over the years, Palmetto Family has remained on the front lines of the fight to keep biblical values a consideration in the culture at large and in public policy decisions. As the only organization in South Carolina focused full-time on the entire range of issues facing families, we have helped the Palmetto State realize hundreds of wins for faith, family and freedom.
Our research and publications promote positive change that help make South Carolina a better place to live and raise a family. We have earned a reputation as a clear, credible voice on cultural and policy issues affecting the family.
Palmetto Family is the most effective faith-based organization fighting for a South Carolina where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished.
Palmetto Family is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established and abiding by all state and federal laws. We submit our organization to financial audits and review, and continue to abide by the highest ethical standards in the solicitation and handling of donated funds. Our accounting practices are consistent with generally accepted principles (GAAP).
