Our mission is to persuasively present biblical principles in the centers of influence on issues affecting the family through research, communication, and networking.
Our vision is to see a South Carolina where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished.
Palmetto Family focuses on seven core areas as they relate to the family. Each value is represented by a star in our logo. Below are our values.
Under the leadership of G. Steven Suits M.D. of Spartanburg, Palmetto Family Council received its charter as a non-profit education organization in 1993, and opened an office in Columbia in the fall of 1994. Working in association with Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council, we began “defending and strengthening the family” in South Carolina.
Over the years, Palmetto Family Council have been on the front lines in South Carolina’s fight to keep faith at the center of public policy decisions. As the only organization in South Carolina focused full-time on the entire range of issues facing families, the Palmetto State has realized hundreds of wins for faith, family and freedom.
Our research and publications also promote positive change that helps make South Carolina a better place to live and raise a family. We enjoy a reputation as a clear, credible voice on cultural and policy issues affecting the family.
Ultimately, Palmetto Family Council is the most effective faith-based organization fighting for a South Carolina where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished.
