Columbia, S.C. – On Tuesday, March 6, over 100 pastors from over a dozen denominations and from every corner of the Palmetto State will gather at the South Carolina Statehouse for the second annual Nehemiah Network “Pastor’s Day at the Statehouse.” Members of the Network will begin the day at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Building (819 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201) with a private program featuring presentations from Attorney General Alan Wilson and former South Carolina Senator, Jim DeMint. Media will be admitted to the program at 10:50am in preparation for Sen. DeMint’s remarks which begin at 11:00am.
Immediately following, the pastors will convene in the Statehouse rotunda to be led in prayer by Lt. Governor Kevin Bryant at 12:30pm. From there, the pastors will proceed to the lobby. The goal of the event is to connect every member of the South Carolina Legislature with a faith leader from the district they represent and to offer spiritual support.
The Nehemiah Network is an initiative of Palmetto Family Council composed exclusively of faith leaders in South Carolina. The Nehemiah Network is the largest state-based pastors’ coalition in the United States with over 360 members. The Nehemiah Network is also the first faith-based network to match at least one pastor to each South Carolina legislator (170).
